Titanium Powder Purchasing & Processing FAQ

What does KYHE supply?
KYHE’s core business is recycled titanium alloy powder. We also supply compatible polymer binders and MIM feedstock. Technical support and finished-component supply can be evaluated as separate, additionally priced project services.
Which Ti64 particle-size specifications are available?
The DH-S Ti64 data table lists 0–20 μm and 15–53 μm specifications. Review D10, D50 and D90 as well as the nominal size label. The appropriate distribution depends on your process, equipment and acceptance requirements. Review the powder data.
How should I compare DH-S powder with virgin titanium powder?
Compare the same alloy and intended process, using comparable particle-size distributions, test methods and supply conditions. Review chemistry, flow, density and batch consistency, then evaluate resulting parts under comparable processing conditions. Recycled origin alone does not establish a performance advantage or disadvantage.
Does lower production cost mean my powder price is 60% lower?
Not automatically. KYHE reports approximately 60% lower production cost against its conventional powder-production benchmark. A customer quotation also depends on specification, order quantity, qualification work and supply terms. Finished-part savings further depend on powder consumption, processing cost and yield.
Can the powder be used for MIM or 3D printing?
MIM and additive manufacturing are application routes, not interchangeable qualification standards. Select powder for the specific process and verify it on your equipment. MIM evaluation includes the binder and debinding/sintering route; additive-manufacturing evaluation depends on the printing process and its powder requirements. Explore application considerations.
What if I do not have the equipment to process titanium powder?
Tell us the intended part, drawings or dimensions, quantity and performance requirements. KYHE can evaluate technical assistance or finished-component supply. Scope, feasibility, validation work and service costs are agreed separately from material pricing.
What are the factory output and single-line capacity?
The total factory annual output is 1,000 tonnes. The annual capacity of a single powder production line is 80 tonnes. These figures have different scopes; confirm the allocation and delivery schedule for your order with the team.
Are the mechanical properties guaranteed for every part?
The DH-S Ti64 values—950 MPa tensile strength, 850 MPa yield strength and 15% elongation—are typical specimen results. Part performance depends on processing and post-treatment. Agree specimen preparation, test conditions and acceptance criteria for your application.
What quality information should I request?
Ask for the applicable material specification, batch identity, chemical and particle-size results, relevant physical-property tests and any agreed specimen reports. Identify whether each value is typical, a measured batch result or an acceptance limit. Read about quality and traceability.
How do I verify recycled content and GRS documentation?
Request the current scope certificate and order-specific documentation relevant to the material supplied. A historical certificate is available in our resources, but does not establish the current scope or certify every product. Review GRS documentation.
How are energy use and carbon footprint different from cost?
Production cost is an economic measure; energy use and carbon footprint are environmental measures. They can improve together but have different boundaries and baselines. For your procurement reporting, ask which process, unit of material and reference route a comparison covers.
How do I request samples, prices or a delivery schedule?
Send the alloy, particle-size specification, estimated quantity, manufacturing route and required delivery date. Include chemical or mechanical acceptance criteria where available. Sample quantity, minimum order, packaging and lead time are confirmed in the quotation. Prepare an inquiry.
